papertiger media was established in Brisbane, Australia, by Paul Hardacre and Marissa Newell.
publishers of the papertiger: new world poetry CDROM, hutt poetry ezine, anything i like art ezine, and the soi 3 modern poets imprint, papertiger media is unique in its vision and dedication to diversity, by publishing in three formats.
Queensland-centric, but with an eye to the international, papertiger media now has an Asia office in Chiang Mai, Thailand, to complement the activities of its Brisbane headquarters.
Winners of the Queensland Writers Centre's Johnno Award for its outstanding contribution to writers and writing in the state of Queensland, papertiger media has emerged as one of Queensland's most important and prolific cultural producers.

Paul Hardacre - Managing Director
Paul Hardacre was born in Brisbane, Australia in 1974. He is a Managing Director and editor of papertiger media. He has previously edited selections for the South Australian poetry journal, Sidewalk, the US ezines Big Bridge and Fuse Box, and is a former editorial correspondent for Cordite. His first collection of poetry, The Year Nothing, was published by HeadworX (Wellington, New Zealand) in 2003. His second collection, Love in the place of rats, Highly Commended for the Thomas Shapcott Award in 2003, 2004 and 2005, is forthcoming from Transit Lounge.
Since 2004 he has spent time in Myanmar, Singapore, Pakistan, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, China, New Zealand, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United States, Italy, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos PDR. He currently divides his time between Brisbane, Australia, and Chiang Mai, Thailand. More at www.paulhardacre.com

Marissa Newell - Managing Director
Marissa Newell was born in Proserpine, North Queensland in 1979, and grew up on the Sunshine Coast hinterland (mostly Maleny). An artist and graphic designer, she is a Managing Director and designer of papertiger media. She has published her drawings internationally, and dreams of a time when she can be left alone by the world to draw, publish poetry and art, and raise chickens in a picturesque rural setting. She is widely traveled, having spent time in the Philippines, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, New Zealand, Italy, and Laos PDR. B.R. Dionysius - Editor, papertiger: new world poetry
B.R. Dionysius is a poet, editor, arts administrator and educator born in Dalby, Western Queensland in 1969. He was the chairperson of Fringe Arts Collective Inc from 1994 to 2001; directed the Brisbane Writers Fringe Festival from 1993 to 1996, and directed the Subverse: Queensland Poetry Festival from 1997 to 2001. In 2004, he completed an MPhil (Creative Writing) at the University of Queensland. He has recently graduated from a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) Grad Entry, again at the University of Queensland, and now teaches English at Ipswich Grammar School. He lives in Gordon Park, Brisbane, is married to the writer Melissa Ashley and has two daughters, Rhiannon and Sylvie. He is the author of two poetry collections, Fatherlands (Five Islands Press, 2000) and Bacchanalia (Interactive Press, 2002), and one verse novel, Universal Andalusia (soi 3 modern poets, 2006). |
